A hunter discovered a body Saturday morning in the Lake Talquin State Forest on Highway 20.
Leon County sheriff's deputies say the body appears to be a white, middle-aged male. They are estimating the body has been there for several days.
Although the investigation is still in progress, officials say they haven't found any signs of foul play.
"The body is being transported to the morgue. This will be a medical examiner's case and they'll be performing an autopsy in all likelihood tomorrow morning," said SGT Chris Parker with the Leon County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities are not releasing the identity of the body until they can verify who it is and notify the next of kin.
