UPDATE -- June 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
A local woman charged in the death of her three-month-old baby could soon be released from jail to await trial.
Morgan Eilts appeared in court in Suwannee County Wednesday morning.
The judge lowered her bond from $110,000 to $40,000.
Eilts is charged with aggravated manslaughter and child neglect.
Here's what the defense team said to try to convince the judge.
"The court was not aware of our clients lack of any prior criminal history which it was made aware of this morning, as well as the fact that our client had graduated and completed the law enforcement academy," said Chuck Collins, an attorney for the Eilts family.
Collins believes that Eilts will bail out of jail sometime in the near future.

19-year-old Morgan Anna Eilts is behind bars in Suwannee County, charged with aggravated manslaughter on a child and neglect of a child.
Back in October 2010, emergency officials were called to a home at 9849 77th Place in Live Oak because of an unresponsive child.
The three-month-old victim was taken to a Gainesville hospital and died two days later.
"Raising kids ain't easy and a lot of time, people can't handle it," said the parent of a two-month-old infant, Shawn Shingledecker.
"if you couldn't handle a kid, put it with a friend, put it with a family member..."
Deputies say Eilts admitted to what she calls numerous accidents that caused minor injuries.
"But there were just some things that caused suspiscion," said Suwannee County Sheriff Tony Cameron.
Investigators say Eilts confessed to dropping the baby in the bathtub, it's head hitting pretty hard. She also roughly jerked the babies' legs up to change its diaper, when she got frustrated.
Sheriff Deputies also say Eilts admitted to sitting the baby down on a coffee table too carelessly, bumping its head on the table.
