A family already in mourning suffers a devastating blow Sunday morning when a head-on collision takes the life of a young man.
Authorities say 30-year-old Zranwea Kpan of South Carolina was on his way to a family funeral in Gadsden County when the car he was driving was hit head-on along State Road 267 about five miles north of downtown Quincy.
"Two vehicles [were] involved in this crash, one northbound, one southbound. The northbound came up on slower moving traffic, pulled out to pass. Southbound vehicle tried to get out of the way and was struck on the driver's side," said SGT Bill Turner with the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Florida Highway Patrol says five people were injured in the two-car accident; one was life-flighted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
FHP says injuries are not considered life threatening. Officers say charges are pending. This accident brings the number of traffic fatalities in Gadsden County to 16 this year.
