Four Broward County gambling houses betting on slot machines have just pulled up a jackpot. They can begin offering slot machines July 1 with the blessings of the Florida Legislature.
Tuesday a Broward judge ruled in favor of the slots. The judge found that the Legislature violated the intent of a constitutional amendment passed last year by voters statewide.
The vote allows slot machines at south Florida horse and dog tracks and jai-alai frontons.
Broward County voters endorsed slots in March. Miami-Dade County voters rejected them.
