Mr. Food: Banana Cream Pies

Bananas are always super buys (and one of our favorite buys!) But with the warmer weather coming, it's the perfect time to match the favorite and the bargain with a "keep the kitchen cool" no-bake creamy banana pie that's so good and so fast that I've included it in my "Cookin' Quickies" cookbook!

In a bowl, we combine 1 small package banana cream instant pudding mix, 1 cup milk, and 1/4 cup coffee liqueur. Beat it until it's smooth, and gently fold in 1 cup whipped topping.

Now, we layer 2 sliced bananas that we dipped in a bit more coffee liqueur into a store-bought chocolate graham cracker pie crust.

Sprinkle on a couple chopped-up toffee candy bars, top it with the pudding mixture, cover it, chill it in the fridge for about an hour or so (until it sets) and, when we spoon on a bit more topping and sprinkle on some more candy bar garnish, we've got all the favorites together in a mellow banana pie with a candy crunch!

And if you want to use sweetened strong black coffee in place of the liqueur, that'll work too! Either way, it's a simple "mix, layer and chill."
