Police make a shocking discovery inside a Tallahassee home after neighbors report hearing cries for help.
Police say they received a phone call about one o'clock Saturday morning of a woman possibly being assaulted at her home. When they arrived on the scene and finally entered the house they found the woman already dead.
It is scene of Tallahassee's fourth homicide. Inside the Russell Street home, police say they found the body of 39-year-old Lisa Hamilton lying face down in the kitchen.
"We believe this homicide resulted from a dispute between the female victim and a male subject," said LT Ken Bergstrom with the Tallahassee Police Department.
Now 25-year Selvin Daniels III is in police custody, charged with first degree murder after OFC Ryan Pender saw him running into the victim’s house before escaping.
Neighbors say they didn't see a thing, but will be more aware from now on.
"I will be a lot more cautious and closing my doors and keeping them locked and keep my alarm on," said neighbor Kryshonna Clemmons,
The City of Tallahassee has witnessed two murders within one week, which has left some residents in a state of shock.
"My eyes going be wide open, keep them open, looking around every corner, be very aware," said Dustin Delain, a student at FAMU.
Residents can rest easy because Daniels is in custody after relatives persuaded him to turn himself in.
Authorities said Daniels had a suspended license and warrants out for his arrest at the time of the murder.
Authorities are not releasing the cause of death. Witnesses tell police they heard the two arguing over drugs when they say he dragged her inside the home.
