Pedestrian Struck by Car in Tallahassee

There was a close call for a woman trying to cross a busy stretch of Tennessee Street Tuesday morning. She was struck by a car just before nine.

Witnesses told police the woman was running across six lanes of traffic and actually ran right into the side of this white Mercury Marquis.

She was down in the street near the corner of Tennessee and High Road and officers on scene say it could have been much worse.

Officers say the woman who worked at a nail salon nearby was unresponsive on scene, but is expected to recover.

Her name hasn't been released. The driver of the car, as you can imagine, was shaken up too. He had just turned from High Road onto Tennessee when the two collided. Police say speed was not a factor.
