The Florida National Guard is deploying thousands of troops in response to the landfall of Hurricane Dennis.
Monday morning 100 vehicles left the North Florida Fairgrounds in Tallahassee headed to the hardest hit areas.
A total of 2,600 troops will respond. All of the troops were staging in Tallahassee and will head to Crestview where they will be dispatched to areas damaged by Dennis.
The National Guard helps with search and rescue efforts, protection from looters and humanitarian aid.
