A 30 billion dollar industry is dedicated to fitness and diet, yet health experts say the country is getting fatter than ever. A local company is going to extremes to whip its employees into shape.
Working out while on the job, not something you normally see, but at Florida Association Insurance Agents getting fit is part of the work day.
FAIA Employee, Lisa Harrington said, "It's hard it hurts but the benefits outweigh the pain."
Every Friday Boot Camps To Go delivers a 45 minute workout straight to the companies front yard.
Boot Camps To Go Head Trainer Laurel Blackburn said, "We are ready we have our site location with all the equipment and we just set up shop. There is no excuse I don't have time to go to the gym, it's right here."
As belts loosen, relationships between employees grow.
President & CEO of FAIA Jeff Grady said, "It's definitely a morale booster, you see a lot of people interacting that previously were departmentalized or friendships that have formed as a result of exercising together and rallying around this program."
It's not all sweat and pain, employees have a little fun slamming the medicine ball at their bosses pictures.
"If they have a happy and healthier lifestyle than we will be a better organization as a result of it", said Grady.
And, the results are clear. "My clothes fit better, that's the bottom line", said Harrington.
And at the end of the day the sweat and strength pour over to form team camaraderie and healthier lifestyles.
