We're always time-pressed, always busy, so an ice cream sundae break sure can be a tasty time-out, but why make 'em one by one? Here's the easy make-ahead way that'll have our "gotta have it right away" sundae ready any day of the week!
Using any brands, we prepare a brownie mix according to the package directions, and crumble half of the brownies over the bottom of a large bowl or trifle dish.
We scoop half of a 1/2 gallon of vanilla ice cream over that then layer on a sliced banana.
Top that off with 1/2 cup warmed hot fudge sauce.
Over that, a layer of half a 12-ounce container of thawed, frozen whipped topping.
Sprinkle on 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts and a few maraschino cherries.
Repeat the layers, cover and freeze until ready to serve! And when it comes to ice cream sundaes, anything goes, like if you want a different flavor ice cream or maybe mix and match flavors, warm caramel sauce instead of hot fudge or along with the hot fudge… sure! Want to add a few sprinkles to the mix? Go ahead – it's your sundae!
