Commissioners Approve County Budget

Commissioner Cliff Thaell says the county is fortunate to have nearly $14 million in new growth revenues.

Because of all the construction activity in the county, commissioners were able to meet the need for expanded EMS services and capital improvements.

Thaell was not pleased with the cut to health care.

Cliff Thaell says, "My biggest disappointment is that we cut one million dollars from the health care budget at a time when we need more dollars in health care. We have a large uninsured population; the budget had been two million dollars a year.”

The only dissenting vote came from Commissioner Bill Proctor.
