Tallahassee Hotel Robbery Suspect Arrested

The latest came early Wednesday morning at the Motel Six on the corner of Thomasville and Timberlane.

A victim at the motel six called in a description to police, prompting a pursuit.

The chase ended on Apalachee Parkway when the suspect crashed his car. He bailed out and ran. That's when the canine unit was called out to track him down.

Investigators believe the man is behind a string of hotel holdups.

OFC John Newland, spokesman for the Tallahassee Police Department, says, "Yes, we do believe this suspect has been doing this the past couple of nights. Hopefully we can put an end to this and catch the individual.

Fifty-year-old Lonnie Hollingsworth was arrested in connection with the holdup. Hollingsworth was jailed on four counts of armed robbery.

Police believe Hollingsworth is also responsible for robberies of a holiday inn last week, and another Motel Six on Apalachee Parkway Tuesday night.
