Texas and Louisiana Prepare for Rita

Thursday night there was slow motion evacuation out of coastal Texas.

Thousands of cars, some of them stranded with empty gas tanks, were doing their best to heed warnings and get out of the way of category four Rita, and as Rita keeps jogging farther east, Louisiana has even more to worry about.

Already the storm is bringing its first measurable rain to the city since Katrina, raising fears that the levees patched up after that storm could give way and bring new flooding.
