A stabbing took place in broad daylight in downtown Tallahassee Monday afternoon. It happened around 4:30 at the intersection of Park Avenue and Monroe Street.
An officer on scene says two transients identified as 56-year-old Richard Gauvin and 46-year-old Gary Posey got into an argument. That's when authorities say Gauvin pulled out a knife.
"Based on what the witnesses told us, the two men squared off as if to fight. As they got more aggressive with each other one of the gentlemen pulled a knife and stabbed the other person in the belly," says Tallahassee Police SGT Mike Womble."
Posey is said to be listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
Gauvin is being held at the Leon County Jail. His charge is aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
