Rescuers in Beaumont found the bodies of five people believed to have been killed by carbon monoxide coming from a generator they used after the electricity went out in their apartment.
The victims were a man, a woman and three children.
Three others are in critical condition. President Bush says he plans to visit the
Beaumont-Port Arthur area Tuesday.
Meanwhile, residents of Cameron Parish, Louisiana are doing their best to clean up after Rita tore through that area early Saturday morning.
Rebuilding will be a large part of the relief efforts, rather than search and rescue, so many people chose to evacuate the area, unlike New Orleans when Katrina struck.
