Council to Decide What to Do About Red Tide

The council held its first meeting Wednesday. Senator Paula Dockery and Representative Donna Clarke created the group, which will focus on environmental issues.

The council will bring together research from around the state on red tide and develop solutions. Representative Clarke says she hopes to set up a monitoring service for red tide.

Representative Clarke says the council will make Florida the national leader in ocean and coastal protection. The council is made up of 15 marine experts and three representatives from state agencies.
