It's the "Dining in the Dark" event where people can experience what it's like to be blind and eat a fancy dinner.

As the title implies, they ate in pitch black darkness while the wait staff used night vision goggles to serve the food.

The event coordinator, Barbara Ross, says, "Restaurants in Europe actually do this for profit, and I thought what an amazing way to raise people's awareness about some of the techniques that our specialists teach every day to folks that are blind to cope without their vision."

"Dining in the Dark" raised over $18,000. The proceeds will benefit the Florida Institute of Rehabilitation Education for people who are visually impaired or blind.
