TALLAHASSEE -- The park near Lake Munson has always been called the Lake Munson Preserve Park. But it was never officially named, until Tuesday.
Leon County commissioners voted to name the park the Gil Waters Preserve after Mr. Gil Waters, who used to own the land.
Commissioners say naming the park after him was part of a deal they made when the county first took over the land a few years back.
The area includes a boat launch and picnic tables and is open for public use.
