FSU's police department proves it's making the cut.
The department has just become re-accredited by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
During this process, the commission takes a close look at what the department is doing in the way of adhering to certain policies and procedures and meeting more than 200 standards of excellence.
"For the past two years or so, we've been putting a lot of emphasis on traffic safety education and enforcement on campus, particularly focusing on DUI impaired driving and also speed and safety belt enforcement," says FSU Police MAJ Thomas Longo.
The re-accreditation process occurs every three years.
