Police From Iceland in Tallahassee

It's been 12 years since Tallahassee police have teamed up with officers from Reykjavik, Iceland to swap trade secrets.

On Tuesday Tallahassee Police Chief Walt McNeil welcomed the newest group of Icelandic officers who are anxious to learn about new crime scene techniques.

Over the years they've taken several ideas back to Iceland with them.

Svenn Magnusson, A Reykjavik police officer, says, "We took the DARE program and put it into our perspective and investigative methods we have used, uses of K-9 dogs. There are quite many things."

Tallahassee police have picked up a few tips from the Icelanders as well, enhancing its community policing after learning how the Reykjavik officers fight crime with communication. They do not carry guns.
