A local student is chosen to participate in a student advisory council for the state of Georgia.
Grace Burridge says she will work with students from around Georgia and with State Superintendent Kathy Cox to deal with issues facing the schools.
Burridge says some of the topics include high school dropout numbers and higher education. She says she is happy to represent her school.
Grace Burridge, a junior at Thomas County Central High, says, "I feel so proud. There are only 52 kids chosen out of all of Georgia and I'm one of them. I feel so honored to be in that position, be a liaison state and schools."
Burridge says the goal is to bring issues to the state superintendent so they can make changes. She also hopes to bring back new resources and ideas to students at Central High.
