Florida Highway Patrol Release

Madison County - December 2, 2012

The Florida Highway Patrol believes alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that killed a Madison County man Saturday night.

According to FHP, Jonathan Hurt, 34, was driving west on county road 253 (Cherry Lake Drive) in Madison County.

Troopers say Hurt drove his 1984 ford pickup onto the north grassy shoulder.

Next, officials say he struck a culvert sending the truck in the air.

His pickup went in the westbound travel lane and landed on it's roof after overturning multiple times.

Hurt was pronounced dead on the scene by Madison County emergency medical services.

According to the accident report, Hurt may have been intoxicated and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Madison County Sheriff's Office and fire rescue assisted the Florida Highway Patrol on scene.
