Taylor spoke to a group at the Cairo Women's Club Thursday night.

The Albany, Georgia native says south Georgia will play a big role in picking Georgia's next governor.

Campaigning for the 2006 Georgia gubernatorial race, Taylor discussed his position on a few Peach State issues.

Georgia Lt. Gov. Mark Taylor says, "We got to protect the HOPE Scholarship, which I sponsor, and I am really, really excited by the response that our campaign focus on better schools and better jobs is having all across south and middle Georgia and the entire state."

Taylor says Thursday’s visit is just one of many he plans on making in south Georgia leading up to the 2006 election.
