A branch of Florida A&M University receives a very high honor.
The university's Institute of Public Health has earned reaccreditation, which will last seven years. This is considered the highest accreditation a public health program can receive.
The institute is comprised of 49 masters students and 10 doctoral students.
"This is our second consecutive time that we have achieved that, our initial review. When the maximum number of years was five, we got that, and then the max number was seven, so we are very pleased," says the institute's director, Dr. Cynthia M. Harris.
The institute's mission is to improve the health status of the underserved through graduate training and service.
