The Valdosta Police Department has confirmed they have a lead in the bank robbery that happened on Thursday morning at the Bank of America on the corner of Baytree and Gornto. Stay tuned for Eyewitness News tonight for the latest on the investigation.

Valdosta Police Department Public Information Release
On December 20, 2012 at approximately 0905 hours, the Lowndes “911” Center received reports of a robbery at the Bank of America, 2001 Baytree Road. Officers responded and were advised that two African American males entered the bank, both armed with handguns with their faces covered, and demanded money.
They left with an undisclosed amount of money and got into a blue Jeep Cherokee. Detectives with the Valdosta Police Department and Crime Scene Technicians with the Valdosta-Lowndes Crime Lab are on scene investigating. Detectives are investigating the possibility that the two suspects may have switched vehicles nearby to an older model, Chevrolet Suburban.
The FBI, which investigates all bank robberies, has been notified to respond. No further information is available at this time.
