Gadsden Hospital Power Cut Off

The City of Quincy turned off the power at Gadsden Community Hospital Tuesday.

The hospital was shut down by the state Agency for Health Care Administration on Friday, forcing patients to move to other facilities.

The city shut off the hospital's power, saying it owes $88,000 in unpaid utility bills.

According to its manager, the county has turned on generators to supply electricity for some critical labs while arrangements are made to move medications and cultures elsewhere.

Late Tuesday afternoon, we got word that the hospital has filed an injunction against the county. We are still trying to get a copy of it to see what it's asking the courts to do.
