Seafood Warnings

Not only are oystermen forced off the water, but the popular Apalachicola oyster is off the market.

State biologists say red tide moved into the Apalachicola Bay following Hurricane Katrina's strike.

Officials in the Division of Aquaculture say it could be weeks before the water levels return to normal.

Meanwhile, folks continue their vacations on St. George Island, despite the abundance of dead fish.

Biologists say it's safe to eat the fish, but stay away from shellfish, specifically oysters.
