Cleaning Cars for Katrina Victims

A Tallahassee car wash is vacuuming, scrubbing and waxing for the cause.

Tuesday 100 percent of proceeds collected at all three of Tallahassee's Super Suds locations are headed directly to the American Red Cross hurricane relief effort.

Chad Gardner, owner/operator of Super Suds, says, "We're having a hurricane relief day. All proceeds from our three car washes will be going to the American Red Cross and we're just doing this so the customer can give something back along with us."

Danier Conger, General Manager of Super Suds on Market Street, says, "Because we know the impact that happens here in Florida, we are really aware of the conditions going on there. Our hearts and prayers are pretty much going out to that."

Conger and Gardner say that everyday since Katrina, customers from Louisiana and Mississippi have brought their cars in for cleaning. They wanted to return the favor.

Conger said that their fundraising efforts had raised approximately $7,500 for the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina relief effort, in addition to clothing and food donations.
