Investigators have finally shut the book on the Innovation Baptist Church fire.
The church and school that houses nearly 400 students burned down this past Labor Day. Ever since, the Tallahassee Fire Department, state, and federal officials have been sifting through remains trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
CAPT John Gatlin with the Tallahassee Fire Department says, "Based on what we can look at we have concluded that there is no obvious foul play or anything of suspicious nature related to the fire cause."
CAPT Gatlin says because of the significant damage to the building no exact cause could be determined.
Principal Young says the church plans to tear down the structure in the next few months and rebuild on the same property. Unfortunately, that will take much longer.
