Governors Visit the Gulf

Sonny Perdue looked in on Georgia National Guard operations in Louisiana and Mississippi and Gov. Jeb Bush made several stops to meet with first responders supporting recovery efforts in Mississippi.

Hundreds of Florida law enforcement officers, National Guard troops, wildlife officers and disaster specialists have been working since Katrina hit the coast and Bush says he is pleased with the work they’re doing.

Bush says he is especially proud of members of the Florida Highway Patrol who arrived in Mississippi just six hours after the storm hit.
