The Tallahassee Police Department sent its third wave of officers to Mississippi Wednesday morning.
The 10 officers are headed to Hancock County where their colleagues have been helping to keep the peace since day three.
SGT Mark Meadows says, "Some days you'll be answering calls for service where somebody needs help. Some days you might be guarding a bridge that's been knocked out and keep people from driving over it. All those different type things, going to different areas where they're distributing food and water and keeping order in those places, various things you'll be doing all over the area."
Even the Tallahassee police chief did a stint of service in his home state of Mississippi. He and TPD's public information officer helped to coordinate relief efforts in hard hit Harrison County.
