Incarceration Compensation to Be Discussed During Special Session

Florida House Speaker Allan Bense says a claims bill to pay Wilton Dedge for all that lost time may be taken up during next month's special session.

"Where I get bogged down a bit is the process to put in place to compensate folks for wrongful incarceration. I mean, how do you put a price on 22 years in prison? I don't know. It's hard to snatch a number out of the air,” says Rep. Bense.

Dedge's lawyers are seeking $5 million.

The amount includes money Dedge's father spent from his pension fund to fight for his son's release.
