As the inaugural "Responders Cup Softball Tournament" kicked off, organizers say they hope the first event will not be their last.
The fierce competition proved to be a grand slam for those who took the field.
Charles Johnson said, "It's always fun when you can get everybody together you get to meet people you get to associate with people you don't see on an everyday basis. You know we get to give back to our community by generating funds and everything. We just enjoy being here and being a part of it."
Proceeds from the softball tournament benefit the United Way of the Big Bend. At the event the Wakulla Sheriff's Office took on the Tallahassee Fire Department. TFD got burnt as Wakulla deputies pulled off the win!
