The fair is in town and that means food, fun and rides. But the Deep South Fair sponsored by the Thomasville Exchange Club also benefits the community throughout the year. All profits go towards helping programs in our area.
"We don't spend any of this money on ourselves. In fact, most of our members just open up their pockets to this event. We help the community in any way we can."
Although rising fuel costs have added new expenses for the fair, organizers are making sure it doesn't affect fair goers.
"Expenses are definitely up, but we're not raising any prices as far as rides or arm bands or anything like that. We're keeping the same prices and we're just kinda taking the loss just to get people to come out."
Organizers say the Deep South Fair offers something for people of all ages. A family oriented event that gives back to the community year round, the Deep South Fair will be in Thomasville through Saturday. Tickets and wristbands can be bought at the door.
