Secret Service Training in Tallahassee

Robert Ferguson knows a thing or two about protection, he worked as a secret service agent for two U.S. presidents and, now he is in Tallahassee teaching local officers a few techniques in executive protection.

Dave Ferrell, Tallahassee Police Department, Said, "I've had the opportunity to attend a number of dignitary visits here in town and attending this training has really opened my eyes to a lot of things I was unaware of."

Based on secret service protocol, the students are role playing the safe transport of a federal judge who has been threatened.

It's an intense three day course and one Ferguson says is so important, especially when it comes to domestic security.

Ferguson said, "Florida is one of the leading states in the country and have seen that need for that kind of training and is now asking for that help and we are supporting Florida in that effort."

Ferguson and his company Black Diamond Training will be back in Tallahassee later this month to teach an even more intense protection course.

They also work with several departments in Georgia.
