A woman was found dead on a construction site in Frenchtown. Her body was found behind a green house in the 400 block of West Georgia Street. A city building inspector, on scene to check the insulation, discovered her just before 9 a.m.
Tallahassee Police say the woman was African American. They're not saying yet how the woman died, if it was natural causes or if this is Tallahassee’s latest murder.
The house is one of many under construction as part of a Frenchtown revitalization project and if it turns out to be a murder, project manager Harold Knowles says, it will not only be a tragedy for the victim's family but a setback to efforts to rid this street of crime.
There is an autopsy scheduled for Thursday. We'll update you as soon as we have more information.
