A scare has Wakulla County school officials taking action Friday.
An unsubstantiated rumor circulated that a Wakulla High School student or students were going to bring weapons to school.
Although the rumor was proved unfounded, many students signed out Friday.
We spoke with the superintendent of schools who says that the students’ absences are not necessarily going to be excused and will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office has placed more resource officers at the school.
