The Tallahassee Area Foster Parent Association says it needs 150 families to take in a child.
Doris DuPoint has fostered more than 35 children. As the president of the local association, she says they are in dire need of awareness and funding.
The organization provides everything from infant formula to school supplies.
DuPoint says, "Number one is providing shelter and clothing for children in the foster care system and to provide a building that can hold the resources we have for the children that's donated to us."
There will be a benefit at Community of Faith Church on South Monroe Street on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. There will be free entertainment and informational kiosks. Donations will be accepted.
