"Walk on the Wild Side"

"Walk on the Wild Side" was the slogan Sunday afternoon at the Tall Timbers research station.

An open house was held to inform the public about Tall Timbers.

Natural history exhibits, children's activities and wagon tours were on the agenda. Beautiful weather Sunday afternoon helped to make the event a huge hit!

James Beveridge was there with his family and says, "I think it's real good to get the public involved, especially with as much national and state forests that we have around with the controlled burns. People don't have a tendency to understand what the controlled burns are all about."

Chief Meteorologist Mike McCall was on hand for the prescribed burn demonstration. Frank Ranicky took a "walk on the wild side" playing a few songs for those who attended.
