Some Tallahassee restaurant patrons could soon have someone kicking them out of the bar way before last call.
Under a proposed city ordinance police would enforce the city inspector's Fire Prevention Code, limiting the number of patrons per square foot.
Owners say they understand the importance of safety.
"Crowd control is part of our training for our guest relations staff to walk around and make sure everyone is happy, in addition to our recent expansion with an added 26,000 square feet we feel like we have enough space for people to walk around and avoid problems if overcrowding may occur,” says Dan Gilbertson, owner of Potbelly's.
A public hearing on the proposed city ordinance is scheduled for Oct. 26.
