Georgia's South Health District began offering flu shots to the general public Monday.
The district became concerned last week when shipping delays from manufacturers left vaccine supplies low.
In Thomas County, the Health Department is going ahead with immunization plans as scheduled.
Suzanne Redding of the Thomas County Health Department says, "Today is the first day that we're able to immunize the general public against influenza, and we have folks steadily coming in, so we invite people to call in for an appointment."
The Thomas County Health Department has been offering flu shots to high risk people since early October.
