Wednesday Tallahassee attorney Benjamin Crump filed a lawsuit against the Department of Juvenile Justice.
He says the 15-year-old was victimized at least three times by 17-year-old Lee Donton.
Donton is charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Benjamin Crump says, “They gave the fox the keys to the hen house, when the juvenile justice guards assigned a sex offender to bathe him, change his diapers and take care of a severely, their severely mentally retarded grandson, who IQ tests suggest he had the mind of a three-year-old child.”
A DJJ spokesman says the department sympathizes with the family and looks forward to getting to the bottom of the alleged incidents.
Already one lieutenant at the detention center has been fired and a supervisor suspended.
