While Wild Adventures celebrates its first 10 successful years, the community also revels in the park's success.
Marty Brown says, "Wild Adventures is probably the largest economic tourism driver in our county with about 1.4 million people coming to the area just for Wild Adventures."
Park owner Kent Buescher says, "There was no investment on the part of taxpayers for Wild Adventures to be built and bring one million and four thousand guests, and it's propelled almost a $200 million a year economic impact for the community."
The park is a place of enjoyment and entertainment to many, but for a lot of people it's a fun place to work.
Buescher says, "We're one of the largest employers certainly in Lowndes County and depending on the season we run anywhere from, in our low season, from 400 full and part-time cast members to as many as 700."
Over the last year Wild Adventures purchased more land to ensure the park’s growth and to also allow them to provide fun for years to come.
According to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Tourism Authority, the average tourist spends $150 a day in the area, and the park brings in about $3 million a year in sales tax.
