Capital Area Red Cross Responds After Wilma

The Capital Area Red Cross is doing its part to help in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma.

The chapter sent 30 of its volunteers to Key West and the Orlando area.

They cooked and served more than 1,800 meals Wednesday and were expecting to serve as many 3,000 Thursday.

Chris Floyd says, "It's probably going to be there for a couple of weeks as it continues to provide hot meals to victims, emergency workers."

The Wilma relief effort is just getting underway. There are still as many as 18 local Red Cross volunteers helping in the Katrina affected areas.
