Eleven months of ongoing negotiations, and the Tallahassee Firefighters Union and the city have come to terms.
More than 90 percent of the union members approved a new three-year contract earlier this week.
The president of the Firefighters Union says the package includes a fair benefits and salary increase, although it wasn't as much as they originally asked for.
Travis Oaks, Tallahassee Firefighters Union President, says, "That's the nature of negotiations; you negotiate until you reach a settlement and both parts have to give until that settlement’s reached, and we're happy with the deal we've got."
Now it's up to the City Commission to finalize the deal on November 9.
