A Tallahassee federal grand jury this week charged the three with scheming to defraud envision credit union by forging and then cashing American Red Cross vouchers totaling more than $12,000.
Authorities say the three somehow got a hold of the blank voucher forms while filing legitimate claims.
The problem was first spotted by the Red Cross when it noticed the forms had gone missing. If convicted, each of the evacuees faces up to a maximum of 70 years in prison and millions in fines.
