The state Department of Health says one of the vaccine manufacturers is only filling a portion of Florida’s orders, and that means restrictions on the number of flu shots.
Gov. Jeb Bush says, “I am concerned about it. We had similar problems last year. We would urge people to… first of all, flu season in our state is in February. It’s a little bit later than other places, so there’s still time.”
We expect this shipment from the CDC in December I believe, so we would ask that people prioritize."
The state Health Department had originally predicted plenty of vaccine to go around now. Retailers including Walgreens and Publix have cancelled scheduled flu clinics for the time being.
