AXA Financial Services say 61% of adults have life insurance protection and only 36% have individual life insurance.

In order to make sure their members are financially secure, the India Association of Tallahassee reached out to its members today at their first financial planning meeting.

The seminar covered the fundamentals of financial planning, including how to accumulate assets and how to protect them.

"As soon as they are employed, they have to make a decision quickly to save because many of them have to sign up for 401K within 30 days of their joining. Therefore, people have to be aware of these things they have to do, as soon as they join a job," says Thayumanasamy Somasundaram, Secretary for the India Association of Tallahassee.

Members say they realized the importance of diversifying their Association and wanted to branch out from their normal culturally based events.
