The forum offered information about health concerns and diseases. It also offered free screenings for problems with the eyes, blood pressure, colon and blood sugar.
Some of the organizers of the event are survivors of the diseases they're trying to prevent with this educational forum, like Jessie Sanders, who is a survivor of colon cancer.
She says, "Some of these things like cancer, diabetes and all of those kinds of things can be caught in time and be cured, and you don't have to be a victim, and this is the reason why I think it's important for people to come out."
The forum also offered information and demonstrations of alternative health practices such a massage therapy.
