Wednesday marks the one year anniversary of Morris Young's election as Gadsden County sheriff.
Young is the first African-American sheriff of the county since reconstruction. He won a narrow election over then Under-Sheriff Ed Spooner
Young says the job has not been easy but he's happy at what his department has accomplished.
Sheriff Morris Young says, "Just seeing the effects of all the deputies and investigators all coming together and a lot of violent crime we have had to occur in the county this year, we was able to solve them at a fast rate."
There have been seven murders in Gadsden County this year. Sheriff Young says all have been solved, in addition to solving two cold cases.
